MCD-4 Poklonnaya

The project rethinks the territory as a structured system of urban scenarios - from intensive transit flows to places for staying, recreation, and everyday use. Its spatial organization is based on a more ordered transport and pedestrian framework, optimized street geometry, and the creation of a comfortable environment for daily activity.

The main objective was to integrate two parts of the district, separated by General Dorokhov Avenue and the Setun River, and to improve accessibility for local residents. To achieve this, pedestrian infrastructure was modernized and an elevated pedestrian deck with a new bridge across the Setun River was developed. Particular care was taken to minimize intervention in the ecosystem of the Setun River Valley nature reserve.

The architectural and landscape strategy included renewed paving, an expanded planting system, contemporary lighting and navigation elements, and the introduction of street furniture and public functions. In addition, the traffic scheme for private vehicles was reworked. All parts of the environment were integrated into a unified composition, producing a clear, durable, and contemporary image for the territory. Custom small-scale elements were developed specifically for the landscape setting.

With the project's completion in 2023, the territory around MCD-4 became not only a functional transport node but also a place for recreation and everyday urban life.
